Ash poses no health risk says expert

A vulcanologist currently reassured people in the UK that the ash did not poise a health risk.

But Dr Dougal Jerram, of Durham Universitys Department of Earth Sciences, pronounced a large Icelandic tear in the 18th Century had resulted in thousands of deaths.

He said: Ash can equates to critical health problems but the high rise of the stream plume on top of the UK equates to that it is air trade and not humans on the belligerent that will suffer.

Volcanic ash is done up of little particles that are combined when stew mangle due to gasses in a volcanic eruption.

Eruptions that are charged with gas begin to stew and enhance as they reach the aspect that formula in bomb eruptions and this excellent ash being sent up in to the atmosphere.

When the ash is ejected high sufficient in to the atmosphere, it can reach the higher rise winds and be diluted around the creation from Iceland to Europe.

These high winds are just where airplanes journey and that is because they are not authorised to fly.

He added: One of the majority successful ever eruptions was the 1783-1784 eventuality at Laki in Iceland when an estimated 120 million tons of sulphur dioxide were emitted, we estimate homogeneous to 3 times the sum annual European industrial outlay in 2006.

This escape of sulphur dioxide during surprising continue conditions caused a thick mist to widespread opposite Western Europe, ensuing in most thousands of deaths via 1783 and the winter of 1784.
